"Rev. William Coughlan Council 9932"

     The Knights of Columbus
is here to serve all of the

HOLY REDEEMER Parish Community!

(Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Holy Trinity Catholic Church,

Our Lady of the Snows and Holy Family Catholic Church)

In July, 2009, we formed a new (reinstituted) KofC Council.

Currently, our Council meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday at Holy Redeemer Parish, La Pine, OR.

We share our meeting times (as pre-scheduled) with Holy Trinity Catholic Church, sharing together  within our Holy Redeemer Parish community.

If you are a practicing Catholic male and a member of our Holy Redeemer Parish, we would like you to take a look at some exciting parish involvement activity.

Also, if you have been "Knighted" elsewhere as a Knight of Columbus, you are also welcome to come and join our historic foundation within the Holy Redeemer Parish community "Rev. William Coughlan Council 9932."

During an address to the state deputies, Supreme Knight Carl Anderson stated that "we have nothing less than a moral obligation to offer every eligible Catholic man the opportunity and the privilege of membership in our Order." He also stated, "we must have a Knights of Columbus presence in every parish."  Therefore, councils serving more than one parish are urged to implement the Parish Round Table program in each of the parishes.

Under the Parish Round Table concept, council members belonging to our parish community became members of our newly (reinstituted) "Rev. William Coughlan Council 9932" in July, 2009. We are here to assist our pastor and Chaplain with any project that he may assign to the Council.  Parishes need a Knights of Columbus presence and can also support your council's additional growth potential.

Why Join the Knights of Columbus?

Imagine being part of an organization that fills your heart and your mind with the joy of giving to others and the feeling that comes with making a difference.

Knights are Catholic men, 18 years of age and older, who are committed to making their community a better place, while supporting their Church. Being a Knight is more than camaraderie; it is being involved with your community; it is supporting your local Catholic Church, while enhancing your own faith; it is about protecting and enhancing your family life.

For an inspiring look at what it means to be part of the Knights of Columbus, see the video introduction, "In Service to One. In Service to All" (running time, 30 seconds).

5. Do I have to purchase Insurance to become a member?
No; unlike many fraternal organizations one does not become a member by purchasing insurance. In the Knights of Columbus a man has to be a member before he may avail himself of the insurance benefit. Purchasing insurance is optional, however; the life insurance and long-term care insurance products offered by the Order are not only competitively priced, they are among the most solid and highly rated products available anywhere. Standard & Poor's and A.M. Best, the leading independent agencies that rate insurance companies, give K of C insurance their highest ratings.
